We are seeking a VLSI Design Engineer with expertise in digital and analog design, verification, and physical design. The ideal candidate will work on creating and verifying semiconductor designs for cutting-edge electronic systems. This role requires strong technical knowledge of hardware description languages, physical design, and simulation tools.


Key Responsibilities and Expertise

1. Digital Design

  • Comprehensive understanding of Boolean algebra, combinational and sequential circuits, and FSMs (Finite State Machines).
  • Analyze and design digital systems that integrate with analog components.

2. Analog Design

  • Proficiency in transistor-level design, operational amplifiers, analog filters, CMOS circuits, and ADCs/DACs.
  • Collaborate on mixed-signal designs involving digital and analog blocks.

3. Design Verification and Testing (Front-End Design)

  • Design Verification:
    • Develop reusable test benches using Verilog/SystemVerilog.
    • Debug corner cases to ensure functional correctness.
    • Employ UVM (Universal Verification Methodology) for scalable and reusable verification environments.
  • Simulation Tools:
    • Use tools like ModelSim, VCS, or QuestaSim to verify digital designs.

4. Physical Design and Fabrication (Back-End Design)

  • Physical Design:
    • Perform floor-planning, ensuring area, power, and timing constraints are met.
    • Optimize placement and routing to minimize area and improve timing.
  • Timing Analysis:
    • Conduct Static Timing Analysis (STA) to verify timing requirements.
  • Signal Integrity:
    • Address crosstalk, signal propagation, and noise issues in the design.
  • Design Rule Checking (DRC):
    • Validate compliance with foundry-specific manufacturing rules.

5. Hardware Description Languages (HDL)

  • Proficiency in Verilog and SystemVerilog for coding digital designs.
  • Expertise in simulation, synthesis, and functional verification using HDL.

6. Scripting and Programming

  • Use scripting languages (Python, Perl, or TCL) to automate tasks and improve design efficiency.
